I'm scared of next week.
Like REALLY scared...
I've got so many deadlines rushing towards my face...
Wednesday - GEMS Exam
Friday
- CIBM Individual Assignment
- ISP Final Submission
- SDFTV Final Year Project
But, I guess what I'm really frightened is the SDFTV's Final Year Project... everybody is looking up to me to finish what they have put so much effort in...
I have to live up to their expectations.
And I have to live up to my own expectations too.
I MUST make this project the most glorious finale to my acadamic life in polytechnic. By far, this project must be my proudest achievement.
but. will I be able to exceed my expectations?
I dont have much time.... left.
Unlike the editing projects that I usually do during the holidays, this editing has to be done during the MOST busy period in my whole poly life...
Monday - my whole day is cramped up. With classes from 10-4, it gives me hardly any breathing room between to edit anything.
Tuesday - I DEDICATE THIS ENTIRE DAY TO EDITING. NOBODY. I MEAN NOBODY TOUCH ME DURING THIS PERIOD!!! . period .
Wednesday - Morning is stuck with permernant ICMT, and I have to do a last minute revision for a GEMs which I have a strong suspicion I'm going to fail.
Thursday - I will (definately) skip ICM, because I have no choice, and stick myself in the editing suite the whole day.
Friday - Deadline.
That effectively gives me only 2 days to do the editing.
wtf? And its far longer then any project that I have ever done. The rendering will be hell I tell ya.
how how how how??? *SCREAM*
on top of that, I have CIBM which I have not even started because we've yet to discuss some of the important issues yet.
ISP... I think its a dead end already. Ms Kwa didnt seem impressed with my ISP... and apparantly, I missed out a few stuff that ought to be in the report...
arrrgh!!
and worse of all, I CANNOT use a powerbook because I hate powerbooks due to its lagginess.
It HAS to be the G5!!
urgh. But if it comes to naught, I'll have to use it without complaining.
I'll just blister my eyes waiting for it to restart everytime it crashes.
and I can't go out with Dominic this week!!!!! grr...
help.... *croaks weakly*

Are You Frightened?
Why?
Why does Israel take an offensive stance when the Middle East pokes them to war?
Why do they take the bait?
Are they so blind by their fury?
Frankly, if Israel just go on the defensive, and show the US a few broken walls, the dead bodies of a few refugees, the U.S. will go to war against the middle east in a "peacekeeping effort" to "curb violence".
Now, the U.S. cannot do anything. Because, if they step in now, they will be accused with warmongering, by siding Israel who has gone on full offensive.
BUT.
Now get ready for a likely prediction by yours truly.
1) Lebenon is currently under attack by Israel and Israel refuses to stop.
2) Lebonon advertises her refugees and victims to the world.
3) The United Nations amplifies Lebonon's cry for justice throughout the nations
4) Muslim nations are stirred and start to rally under one banner
5) Every single Muslim extremist groups will be stirred
6) Terrorism starts to occur in Israel
7) Turmoil erupts in Israel
8) The surrounding Shiite Nations try to take this opportunity to invade and capture Israel once and for all.
9) The United States defends Israel, because they WILL.
10) Russia sees this as an opportunity to defy the U.S. supremacy and allies with the Shiite Nations.
11) The European Union, afraid that the war will hit their borders as they are closest to Russia starts allies with the U.S.
12) Communist China, in support of Communist Motherland, Russia offers full millitary might against the U.S. and E.U.
13) The Allies (U.S. and E.U.) realizing their vulnarable state, decides to call in all their resources and Korea, Phillipines, Singapore, Australia and Japan are mobalized into action.
[as you can see, this has escalated to an inevitable world war.)
14) At this moment, North Korea, realizing that all attention has been diverted from them, decide to launch their Nuclear warhead at America due to their constance inteference with their nuclear schemes.
15) The US intercepts that missile but realizes that there are too many of them in store in North Korea and decides to decimate North Korea once and for all.
16) The US uncovers their most potent weapon ???
17) China uncovers their most potent weapon ???
18) The Middle East get ready to fire their Nuclear Weapons at Israel, now that the US has decided to use mega WMDs.
19) The United Nations steps in with a person. That person will be a very charismatic person, a passionate and wonderful person who convinces all the nations of the world to drop their WMDs. He also exercised power, by rights of the UN to destroy all missles using automated defence systems.
20) The person will be hailed a hero and a "master of miracles" because he saved the world from inevitable destruction
21) The United Nations, now under the person gives a solution to permernant world piece - the One World Order. Under this order, every government in the world will submit to a central, impartial authority who will make decisions for the "better" of the world.
For 3 and a half years, the One World System will be under a government system.
After 3 and a half years, the One World System will be overrighted by a "President" who will be the "figurehead" of the human race.
He will set up his headquaters in the high temple in Israel as a landmark because the supposed annihaltion of the world almost occured due to "Israel's Folly"
22) Because of a One World System and increasing technology, there will be no need for cash anymore. There will be one currency throughout the world - the cashless currency.
23) The Cashless Currency system, so that nobody can give an excuse that "oh! I forgot to bring the card with me", will implement a chip to be implanted into every person with an individual identity code.
24) This individual identity code, so that it cannot be tampered, will be linked with a seal from the One World Government.
25) AT THIS MOMENT. Christians all over the world will wake up and realize that the Beast from Revelations has arrived.
26) They will boycott this scheme and will not accept the mark.
"He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666."
Revelation 13:16-18
27) The One World Government will persecute all Christians by claiming they are "heretics" and "destroyers of order"
28) Then. The start of the end will come.
(re: The book of Revelation)
This is what I predict will outcome IF Israel does not stop.
The armegeddon as prophecised in the Bible will come.
If number 1 and 2 of this list comes true, that meanst the rest, until number 28 will inevitably come to pass.
and if 1 and 2 comes true, that means we dont have much time left. I'd give another 7 years at MOST.
I did not read this from anywhere. It just suddenly occured to me that this WILL happen, if Isreal continues to declare war.
Singapore will not be spared. Christians will not be spared...
P.S. : I'm not saying that muslims are inherently violent. It is just that it is within Islam that the Jews (Israel) and Muslims will always be at loggerhead with each other. It is not exactly pinpointed in the Bible that it is the Shiite nations who will be the trigger of the Armegeddon.
But now that the Muslim nations are so volatile, its quite obvious right?

After talking to Dominic, Dylan and Jeremy, things started to look brighter...
I guess my resilliance factor to these kinda disappointments are starting to get better.
Thanks Marcus and Jawei too.. =)
THIS also cheered me up quite a bit.
haha.
i realized something too.
since we're not the top teams, we dont have to slog more work.
we've done finished our website. and thats about it.
ICM is finished.

THIS also cheered me up quite a bit.
Q: How many RJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: 4 whole faculties. One faculty to design the new bulb, one faculty to test it out, one faculty to market it and one guy to write a stupid E-mail about lightbulbs.
Q: How many HCJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: The whole school. To compete with RJC.
Q: How many VJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: The whole school. One student to screw it in and the rest to cheer and wave flags and banners to give him/her support.
Q: How many NJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. They can study without light.
Q: How many AJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: They're too busy trying to be one of the top 5 JCs.
Q: How many ACJC students does it take to change lightbulb??
A: None. They'd use all their money to employ YJC to do it for them.
Q: How many YJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Only one teacher to tell them what a lightbulb is in the first place and to demonstrate(how do you think they're able to change it for ACJC?)
Q: How many CJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: They like being in the dark;)
Q: How many JJC students does it take to changea lightbulb?
A: None. Their physics is so bad that they make the male teacher cry.
Q: How many TPJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: They wouldn't bother.
Q: How many SAJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. They believe in praying for it.
Q: How many NYJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. They are still using oil lamps.
Q: How many SRJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Huh, wat litebarbu...
Q: How many TJC students does it take to change the lightbulb?
A: None. They think they are very bright already.
Q: How many PJC students does it take to change the lightbulb?
A: F*** the lightbulb lah, the principal will do something about rightbarbs. Let's do 300 jumping jacks for not wearing the proper school attire.
haha.

game over.
First. (its been 31 minutes 57 seconds since that announcement)
FUCK.
again. for the umpteenth time, my effort only seem to culminate to failure.
FAILURE.
considering my florid form of written schematics, one should already know that it has to do with the Motorola Campaign.
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAMPAIGN.
WE COVERED EVERY SINGLE DETAIL, EVERY SINGLE MOLECULE OF MISTAKE THAT COULD HAPPEN AND YET WE DIDNT GET IN.
what should be so difficult in getting in 25% of the standard?
6 groups x 6 people = 36
36/100 = 1/3
AND WE STILL COULDNT GET IN.
you don't like the campaign, tell me straight.
don't start with all the shit about campaign logos not working, undue technology, and taglines not strong enough.
WE WORKED DAMM HARD.
and quit with all those dumb excuses that working hard and the experience is all that matters.
WE worked and slogged through nights to get something WE believe is FANTASTIC, our friends think is FANTASTIC to you big ass bigots.
FINE. reject us. It'll only show how puny your brains are.
unsophisticated and plastic.
is it so hard to find a place in this world?
on one hand, you need to know people and have connections.
on the other, you need to excel acadamically.
what happens when your caught in the middle?
is it my destiny NEVER to succeed in life?
everytime i persue one dream, everything goes against it coming true.
i... was bending so much on this ICM project to pull up my GPA...
now it seems like i'll never make it past 3...
its all I have left... really...
and the straw that broke the camel's back had to come now.
I really have no motivation left to work.
Everything i do only results in unrecognition.
I dont care about the amount of workload i have to do. really.
I won't even mind if i have a million projects...
but I want SOMETHING out of my efforts! SOMETHING which people will recognize...
SOMETHING which I can be proud of!!!
nothing.
nothing whatsoever.
so what now Andrew?
the world seems to collapse on you over and over again.
soon you will not be able to stand up again..
music, you're a failure. After 10 years in a band, nobody recognizes your skill, nobody cares about how you play, nobody bothers to encourage you.
You play in the church. Serve God. For WHAT?
He must be condamming you because you defied him by being gay.
The church could not be bothered. They have tons of guitarists, either one can take over the synth.
Your friends? ASH? What ASH. The ASH hardly even exists anymore. Encumbered by work and relationship, they don't even know each other anymore. They exist only as a group of three musicians that serve fruitlessly in a band.
In school, friends seem to be there around you all the time. Their results soar above yours and are perpetually out of reach. In everyway, everyone is better then you. Why do you even try?
You find solace in technology know-how. But you know that you don't have a future there. WHo are you to compare yourself to the ICT technowizards? What did you even come to DMC for? What future is there even?
You dont specialize in anything, you pretend you know everything. But deep down you're a failure. an absolute failure.
You're forgetful,
You're unfillial,
You're stupid,
You're ugly,
You're sinful,
You're unloved.
Go kill yourself.
Really. The world doesnt need you.
In the family, everybody is going to university, collages and graduating with honours and degrees. WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU?
are you even illegitmate? I think you are, because I have a gut feeling your IQ is less then half of your siblings or cousins.
Do you think God even likes you?
You play for him every week, you teach music, you talk about the gospel, but you're a hypocrite.
You go against everything you say.
You're gay. And didnt the bible write somewhere that homos somehow end up in hell?
Is there even a God?
IF there is, apparantly he couldnt be bothered with your insignificant existance. Much like your insignficant existance in the world.
no one likes you. face it.
no one knows you. face it.
Andrew hates you.
You hate yourself.
whatever for Andrew?
*cries*

Crash Update!!
I havn't been blogging proper for a hell long time.
This is thanks to the following modules (not in order of stressfulness) that has made it all possible :
ICMT, ICM, CIBM, SDFTV and ISP.
Each of these modules have their own Final Year Project-s [emphasis on the letter S]. If you can say you're more stressed acadamically then me, congratulation, you've won a ticket to the Institute of Mental Health.
Anywayz, I've realized a few things over the past few days.
1) Andrew is still cute. (If you think I'm commenting about myself, you're quite mistaken. I'm not THAT narccisitic) I saw him in the DMS today =D
2) Zhi Yang can turn ANY topic of conversation into Zombie-related sequences or gay-themed love stories.
3) I have finally found the BEST prata in Singapore. And I mean, by FAR the best prata in Singapore. Its near Jawei's house somewhere in Bishan, and the coffee shop is called "The Prata House". The curry is spicy, the bryani is plenty, and best of all, the prata is CRISPY. =D
4) That some buddists believe that there is a higher form of enlightenment that allows you to see God. (as in NOT Guan Yin and Buddha, but GOD - the Christian God)
5) Doing location reconnaissance in Tiong Bahru and Serengoon between 10am - 1pm is semi-equivalent to suicide.
6) Filming a gang-fighting scene is damm hard.
7) PVC tubes can pose as metal poles very easily
8) I have a final confirmation that proves that a student that I speculated to be AJ in year 2 is really AJ.
9) Dominic gets really very silly when he becomes hungry
10) Its been 8 months already. 8 months. It seems like so long, but I agree with him when he said, "it feels like I've known you only yesterday".
okie. I shall stop at 10 points.
MY ISP IS CURRENTLY SITTING ON 5,000 WORDS.
ITS STUCK AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!
MS LOW SAID THAT OUR TAGLINE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH!!
(author's note: If you notice my "reinvent your exit" file, tell me, does the logo stick in your head? does it catch you attention? do you get the message? would you want to know more? If it does all these, please inform me at 90701757 so that I have evidence that the tagline works.)
+ I shall post the logo in the next picture entry.
To all the 10+ DMC peepz who are helping us next week in the film shoot, a big hug and thanks to you all for being our skin saviour xD
1 month... 8 months.
Life changes, people change.
You change.
But you'll always be the same Dominic i fell in love with.
The same Dominic that broke my self-contained cage.
Looking back, it seems like only yesterday when :
1) I wished for a hug from dominic as a Christmas present.
2) I mentioned that Dominic was a "super cool guy" that i met
3) Dominic finally said, "That makes me technically your boyfriend now right?"
haha. I could go on and on.
happy 8 months dar.
we'll cross 1 year, then more, I guess soon, eternity will be a drop of water engulfed in an ocean of never-ending love. =)

My Final Stand
Guess what guess what?
The Mr. Brown issue has escalated into a worldwide criticism at Singapore government's closed-minded stand on crticism.
http://www.fridae.com/newsfeatures/article.php?articleid=1712&viewarticle=1
EVEN FRIDAE.COM HAS AN ARTICLE ON IT.
not to mention hardwarezone, sgboy and many other global newsletters.
every single non-singaporean newsletter are against what the action taken against poor Mr. Brown.
the whole world knows about it. Fridae.com is internationally read througout Asia and Hardwarezone throughout the world.
Quoted from Fridae.com :
omg. wth?
Rich getting richer and poor getting poorer and you call that "the economy is picking up"??
When Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong took office, he said in his inaugural speech: "We will continue to expand the space which Singaporeans have to live, to laugh, to grow and to be ourselves. Our people should feel free to express diverse views, pursue unconventional ideas, or simply be different. We should have the confidence to engage in robust debate, so as to understand our problems, conceive fresh solutions and open up new spaces."
quite laughable indeed.
Gays and lesbians are STILL supressed. and now this Mr. Brown issue.
unconventional indeed.
where is the integrity?
hmph.
anywayz, I'm not going to comment about the Mr. Brown issue and about the government anymore. This is my last stand and I'm not going to turn my blog into a political battlefield.
Lets all sing Singapore songs with integrity =)
hear ye:
"Until they learn to do what they claim they will do, I'll never support them."
end.

Quoted from Fridae.com :
I knew that *cough* was denying that times were bad. but I never knew it was THIS bad.
It all started from the most unusual quarter: a release of dry numbers by the government's own Department of Statistics, showing a seriously widening income gap. It was not a question of some getting richer faster than others even as everybody was enjoying a better standard of living. Instead, it showed that large numbers of Singaporeans were getting poorer.
Ten percent of Singapore households had no income at all in 2005. Another 10 percent saw their average monthly income fall a whopping 19.7 percent over a 5-year period, from 2000 to 2005. These households, which had an average of S$1,470 (US$927) per month five years earlier, had only S$1,180 (US$744) per month last year.
The next 10-percentile group, also saw their monthly income fall, though by less. Where they had S$2,250 per month in 2000, they saw only S$2,190 per month in 2005, a 2.7 percent decline.
Another 20 percent saw little change in their household incomes, barely keeping pace with inflation. That left only 50 percent of Singapore households whose incomes rose over the last five years. But some of these did very well indeed. The top 10 percent of households in this city enjoyed a 14.8 percent increase in household income, from S$14,360 to S$16,480 over the same 5-year-period.
The government explained that this was the inevitable result of globalisation, but explanation doesn't help people make ends meet.
The cost of living had already become an issue during the recent general election in May, but barely six weeks after, hikes in electricity rates and public transport fares were mooted.

The Echo
------------
A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"
He receives the answer: "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."
And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"
The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a champion!"
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.
This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;
Life will give you back everything you have given to it."
Your life is not a coincidence. It's a reflection of you.
------------
In my life, I live by the rule of "do unto others what you would want others to do to you". Thats why I always strive to show my best to others...
Rule 1 : stay my hand
Rule 2 : is it neccessary?
Rule 3 : what would people think?
I wonder... if my friends reflect what I do to them...
haha. If so, then I musn't be doing that bad a job after all =D
coz I love my friends. consequently, it means I love myself! haha.
thank God for friends =)

Cops looking into gathering in support of mr brown
By Aaron Low
I told you the people will react somehow or another to Mr. Brown's plight.
I learnt in ICMT that if an organization does not handle an impending issue properly, it will develop into a full-fledged crisis that can threaten the survival of the organization.
There has been an upsurge of many anti-PAP fans recently due to their recent very unsavoury proposal.
Many who had been in fact, pro-PAP are reconsidering.
I'm thinking, for once, the country might be heading into anarchy.
They were wrong to undermine the power of bloggers.
Am I anti-PAP? I'm considering it. But I'm also pro-stability. So if the country descends into chaos it'll really suck too.
PAP has done alot for the country. But they are resting on their laurels too soon and are becoming complacent, thinking that they are the sole super power in this country.
again, like my previous post.
all TRUE singaporeans may copy anything I wrote in this article.
all BLIND singaporeans are prohibited from copying anything in this article. and have to remember that this article is written in a pique of rage. it is emotionally ridden and has little credibility.
thus, it was written with an unsane mind by the author and should not be counted as defamatory as the author is a very nice person.

Cops looking into gathering in support of mr brown
By Aaron Low
THE police are looking into a gathering of 30 people who turned up wearing brown to support blogger mr brown at City Hall MRT station yesterday afternoon._________
Those interviewed said they had come in response to an SMS message that had circulated over the weekend, after the free newspaper Today had suspended his weekly column.
The text message had asked people to wear brown and head for City Hall MRT station at 2pm yesterday, to protest against the 'Government-imposed blackout'.
At about 2pm, The Straits Times found about 30 people standing in groups of four to five, talking and laughing just outside the station. They were mostly in their 20s and 30s, and most had come alone. Also present was a Canadian family of three, a mother and her two teenage daughters.
There were no posters, banners or placards, but artist Zai Kuning, 44, came in a brown T-shirt which said 'I am fed up with progress' on the back.
That was referring to the headline of mr brown's June 30 article, 'Singaporeans are fed, up with progress', that drew criticism from the Government.
Mr Zai said: 'I don't really read mr brown's online postings or his columns but...I wanted to show my support for him because what happened to him was unfair.'
Mr brown is the moniker of full-time writer and blogger Lee Kin Mun, 36. In a letter published in Today on July 3, the Government criticised his last piece on the high cost of living here.
The newspaper then suspended the column, sparking online postings late last week by bloggers and netizens, mostly critical of the freesheet's move.
Yesterday, Mr Lee said through his friend, Mr Edmund Tan, 37, who runs a studio that produces content for mr brown's website, that he knew about the SMS asking people to go to City Hall MRT station but was not the one who initiated it.
'We are touched by the gesture and we hope that nobody gets into trouble because of us,' said Mr Tan.
Some police officers were on patrol at City Hall MRT yesterday but they did not approach any of the people dressed in brown or tell them to disperse. By 2.20pm, people began wandering off, and by 2.40pm, it was over.
It is illegal to organise an assembly of five or more people to support or protest something without a permit.
The police confirmed that nobody was arrested. A spokesman said: 'The police are aware of the incident and we are looking into it.'
I told you the people will react somehow or another to Mr. Brown's plight.

The Optimist and the Pessimist
A family had twin boys whose only resemblance to each other was their looks. If one felt it was too hot, the other thought it was too cold. If one said the TV was too loud, the other claimed
the volume needed to be turned up. Opposite in every way, one was an eternal optimist, the other a doom & gloom pessimist.
the volume needed to be turned up. Opposite in every way, one was an eternal optimist, the other a doom & gloom pessimist.
Just to see what would happen, on the twins' birthday their father loaded the pessimist's room with every imaginable toy and game. The optimist's room he loaded with horse manure.
That night the father passed by the pessimist's room and found him sitting amid his new gifts crying bitterly.
"Why are you crying?" the father asked.
"Because my friends will be jealous, I'll have to read all these instructions before I can do anything with this stuff, I'll constantly need batteries, and my toys will eventually get broken," answered the pessimist twin.
Passing the optimist twin's room, the father found him dancing for joy in the pile of manure. "What are you so happy about?" he asked.
To which his optimist twin replied, "There's got to be a pony in here somewhere!"

PROTEST AGAINST MR. BROWN BEING SUSPENDED!!!! PROTEST!!!
Wtf. WHAT THE FUCK.

but I'm appalled at what happened. I got the news from Jeremy who was very sweet after an incident regarding Shuichi today.

Ok. If I am him (mr.brown) , I would never want to go back an work for that company. - TODAY.
Mr. Brown rocks. I've listened to every single of his podcast ever since "zhng my car"...
It is a wonder why the Government, Local Press and MICA tries to press down on him.
In fact, Mr. Brown is now so frightened of OFFENDING the freaking people that his podcast now is so much self-censored.
I almost cried when I listened to his podcast "Thank God its Friday".
Is this the end of the Mr. Brown show?
Apparantly yearbook.com.sg is not supporting it anymore...

S'POREANS ARE FED, UP WITH PROGRESS!
Friday June 30, 2006
Moving ahead is great but it would be even greater to be able to make
ends meet. THINGS are certainly looking up for Singapore again. Up, up, and away. Household incomes are up, I read. Sure, the bottom third of our country is actually seeing their incomes (or as one newspaper called it, "wages") shrink, but the rest of us purportedly are making more money. Okay, if you say so.
As sure as Superman Returns, our cost of living is also on the up. Except we are not able to leap over high costs in a single bound. Cost of watching World Cup is up. Price of electricity is up. Comfort's taxi fares are going up. Oh, sorry, it was called "being revised". Even the prata man at my coffeeshop just raised the price of his prata by 10 cents. He was also revising his prata prices.
So Singaporeans need to try to "up" their incomes, I am sure, in the
light of our rising costs. Have you upped yours? We are very thankful for the timing of all this good news, of course. Just after the elections, for instance. By that I mean that getting the important event out of the way means we can now concentrate on trying to pay our bills. It would have been too taxing on the brain if those price increases were announced during the election period, thereby affecting our ability to choose wisely.
The other reason I am glad with the timing of the cost of living increases and wages going down, is that we can now deploy our Progress Package to pay for some of these bills.
Wait, what? You spent it all on that fancy pair of shoes on the day you saw your money in your account? Too bad for you then.
As I break into my Progress Package reserves to see if it is enough to
pay the bills, I feel an overwhelming sense of progress. I feel like I am
really staying together with my fellow Singaporeans and moving forward.
There is even talk of future roads like underground expressways being
outsourced to private sector companies to build, so that they, in turn,
levy a toll on those of us who use these roads.
I understand the cost of building these roads is high, and the
Government is relooking the financing of these big road projects.
Silly me, I thought my road tax and COE was enough to pay for public
roads. Maybe we can start financing all kinds of expensive projects this way in future. We could build upgraded lifts for older HDB blocks, and charge tolls on a per use basis.
You walk into your new lift on the first floor, and the scanner reads the contactless cashcard chip embedded in your forehead. This chip would be part of the recently-announced Intelligent Nation 2015 plan, you know,
that initiative to make us a smart nation?
So you, the smart contactless-cashcard-chip-enhanced Singaporean would
go into your lift, and when you get off at your floor, the lift would deduct the toll from your chip, and you would hear a beep. The higher you live, the more expensive the lift toll. Now you know why I started climbing stairs for exercise, as I mentioned in my last column. I plan to prepare for that day when I have to pay to use my lift. God help you if some kid presses all the lift buttons in the lift, as kids are wont to do. You will be beeping all the way to your flat.
The same chip could be used to pay for supermarket items. You just carry your bags of rice and groceries past the cashierless cashier counter,
and the total will be deducted from your contactless cashcard automatically.
You will not even know you just got poorer. And if your contactless cashcard runs out of funds (making it a contactless CASHLESS cashcard), you just cannot use paid services.
The door of the lift won't close, the bus won't stop for you, taxis will automatically display "On Call" when their chip scanners detect you're
broke.
Sure, paying bills that only seem to go up is painful, but by Jove, we
are going to make sure it is at least convenient.
No more opening your wallet and fiddling with dirty notes and coins. Just stand there and hear your income beeped away. No fuss, no muss! I cannot wait to be a Smart e-Singaporean.
I also found out recently that my first-born daughter's special school fees were going up. This is because of this thing called "Means Testing", where they test your means, then if you are not poor enough, you lose some
or all of the subsidy you've been getting for your special child's therapy.
I think I am looking at about a $100 increase, which is a more than a
100 per cent increase, but who's counting, right? We can afford it, but we
do know many families who cannot, even those that are making more money than we are, on paper.
But don't worry. Most of you don't have this problem. Your normal kids
can go to regular school for very low fees, and I am sure they will not
introduce means testing for your cases.
We need your gifted and talented kids to help our country do well
economically, so that our kids with special needs can get a little more
therapy to help them to walk and talk. And hey, maybe if the country
does really well, the special-needs kids will get a little more subsidy.
Like I said, progress.
High-definition televisions, a high-speed broadband wireless network, underground expressways, and contactless cashcard system - all our signs
of progress.
I am happy for progress, of course but I would be just as happy to make ends meet and to see my autistic first-born grow up able to talk and
fend for herself in this society when I am gone.
That is something my wife and I will pay all we can pay to see in our
lifetimes.
mr brown is the accidental author of a popular website that has been documenting the dysfunctional side of Singapore life since 1997. He enjoys having yet another cashcard, in addition to his un-contactless one and the ez-link one to add to his wallet.

DISTORTING THE TRUTH, MR BROWN?
Monday July 3, 2006
When a columnist becomes a 'partisan player' in politics
Letter from K BHAVANI
Press Secretary to the Minister for Information, Communications and the
Arts
Your mr brown column, "S'poreans are fed, up with progress!" (June 30) poured sarcasm on many issues, including the recent General Household Survey, price increases in electricity tariffs and taxi fares, our IT plans, the Progress Package and means testing for special school fees.
The results of the General Household Survey were only available after the General Election. But similar data from the Household Expenditure Survey had been published last year before the election.
There was no reason to suppress the information. It confirmed what we
had told Singaporeans all along, that globalisation would stretch out
incomes. mr brown must also know that price increases in electricity tariffs and taxi fares are the inevitable result of higher oil prices.
These were precisely the reasons for the Progress Package - to help
lower income Singaporeans cope with higher costs of living.
Our IT plans are critical to Singapore's competitive position and will improve the job chances of individual Singaporeans. It is wrong of mr brown to make light of them.
As for means testing for special school fees, we understand mr brown's disappointment as the father of an autistic child. However, with means testing, we can devote more resources to families who need more help.
mr brown's views on all these issues distort the truth. They are
polemics dressed up as analysis, blaming the Government for all that he is
unhappy with. He offers no alternatives or solutions. His piece is calculated
to encourage cynicism and despondency, which can only make things worse, not better, for those he professes to sympathise with.
mr brown is entitled to his views. But opinions which are widely circulated in a regular column in a serious newspaper should meet higher standards. Instead of a diatribe mr brown should offer constructive criticism and alternatives. And he should come out from behind his pseudonym to defend his views openly.
It is not the role of journalists or newspapers in Singapore to champion
issues, or campaign for or against the Government. If a columnist presents himself as a non-political observer, while exploiting his access to the mass media to undermine the Government's standing with the electorate, then he is no longer a constructive critic, but a partisan player in politics.
Visit TODAYonline website at http://www.todayonline.com
You know what?
I say screw it.
Screw all those stupid journalism rules, open minded-ness and "constructive critic"
Mr. Brown is a champion alright.
He's the champion voice of the people of Singapore and while he may not be a Champion Journalist, he is definately THE champion here in voicing out what the PEOPLE think.
Of course he seems to be "distorting the truth" in the eyes of those who know everything there is to know about taxes, wages, governance and politics. But the problem is - MOST PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW!!
and that is a FACT.
Why on earth does MICA, TODAY and Mr. *cough* (shall not spew vulgarities) clamp down on Mr. Brown? Are they trying to supress what the people do not know?
Is this going to enhance CREDIBILITY? huh ? huh?
Dear Ms. *censored by MDA*, there is NO NEED for the statement "distortion of truth" to be placed on Mr. Brown. BECAUSE THERE IS NO DISTORTION OF TRUTH IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT IS MERELY WHAT THE PEOPLE KNOW AND THINK.
You have to push the blame on him for writing this on his autistic child? You have to announce it to the world and cut new wounds? Its UTTERLY digusting. COMPLETELY FOUL.
yucks. you disgust me Ms. *censored by MDA*
Sacarsm? Can't take a bit of bite? Is it because you all are too comfortable in your high seats?
Really. I think I'm going to re-consider certain stuffs in the future.
It is like a little kid. - Everything was done by his parents.
Feeding, cleaning, bathing etc.
Then one day, he thinks that eating with fork and spoon instead of chopsticks is better. Merely, he just does not know the advantages of eating with chopsticks.
BUT the parents would not stand for it and insists that the kid uses chopsticks.
WITHOUT explaining why.
SCOLDING the kid.
and PUNISHING the kid for that "foolish idealism"
wth?
is that fair?
while this is just a metaphore, it just depicts on a smaller scale what is actually happening?
oh yes. We're proud of our "parents" for doing everything for us.
but c'mon. YOU ACCUSE US OF THINKING WHAT WE'RE THINKING?
as in. YOU BLAME US FOR THIKING WHAT WE'RE THINKING?
wow. fantastic. parents.
Mr. Brown and Mr. Miyagi, in my opinion is the best and funniest podcasters in Singapore.
In conservative Singapore, it WAS nice to have a person who spoke up for enlightenment.
or more like to enlighten those who aren't enlightened about the unenlightened.
why search for a splinter in the eye of another when you don't look at the log that is imminently hanging on top of you?
where is your gratefulness for
"I am Singaporean?"
"Zhng My Car?"
"XNS Men?"
all these are serious local views on what people. REAL people believe life is like in Singapore. without the pepper and salt. But with all the humour.
YOU ALL should be HAPPY that he is not in some opposition party or he'll give you all hell.
Humour + Integrity + Honesty = Charisma.
something that the Singapore government is starting to lose in my opinion.
watch out for National Day though. I how many people will actually be cheering.
grrrr.
screw it. I'm not going to wear white pants for this whole year in protest. I should have opened my ears to my friends who support OPEN MINDEDNESS politics.
High powers always suck up to the higher powers.
why?
have they forgotten their sense of humanity?
I guess not. They're just frightened.
Stay strong Mr. Brown.
All of TRUE Singapore is behind you.
The voice of the people must not be taken away.

He enjoys having yet another cashcard, in addition to his un-contactless one and the ez-link one to add to his wallet.

this is the reply :

The voice of the people must not be taken away.

all BLIND singaporeans are prohibited from copying anything in this article. and have to remember that this article is written in a pique of rage. it is emotionally ridden and has little credibility.
thus, it was written with an unsane mind by the author and should not be counted as defamatory as the author is a very nice person.
You on the other hand, are NOT NICE. =)

Solitude's Quiz
Ok. Haha. Solitude ask me to do this so I'll just do this to humour myself xD
~-*-~
the objective of this meme is to write 8 points of your perfect lover (note... PERFECT so dun lie)
1) Physically Fit :
Haha... at least able to do what I can do. It'll be really awkward if I go swimming or gymming and my boyfriend is like "How do I use this machine?" or "Eh. I sink when I go into the pool. You go first."
Frankly, I'll get dissed.
2) Taller then ME! :
Definate must. LOL. I just would not feel really secure if my partner is like really short.
3) Linguistically Competant :
If you can understand what the two words above mean, you're in my league =D
haha. I think its important because I really HATE it when I've talked so long and somebody goes like "huh?" and is unable to reply because they do not understand half of what I'm saying.
(footnote: its not really a difficult thing to do because my standard of English isn't absurbly high - like *cough* some people)
4) Fantastic Complexion! :
It'll be great if he has a flawless complexion though. I'll most likely end up envying him every time I go out with him. BUT of course, if he has fantastic complexion without a body and dress sense to complement him, it cuts the points down. alot.
5) Body Shape :
I really envy mesomorphics. (basic apple-shaped body types). Though they have to watch their diet really closely, they are the ones who can make a really great body without putting in as much effort as endomorphics or ectomorphics.
(footnote: I'm an endomorphic by the way.)
But. Flabby fat is really quite gross. Way gross actually. Like Nicholas (my blood bro), when he jumps. =X
I'd rather an ectomorphic in that case.
I think guys that take care of their bodies and health well are really cool.
6) Metrosexual :
OF course! Or else how on earth do I go shopping for hours with him? And I'd really die if I've to go out with a person who wears huge over-sized polo tee-shirts with short pants.
oh. but I really dislike divas and people who are overly in-touch with their feminine side.
(what i mean is people who scream at every opportunity in a squeaky high pitch voice, flick their wrist and roll their eyes at every phrase and walk with their butts high up and chest stuck out like some undecerning peacock =)
7) Intelligence :
Definately one of the more important criterias. I do not belive in blatant stupidity. Rather I believe that each person has strenghts and weaknesses. But intelligence is an important factor I guess. General knowledge, computer game strategies and scientific knowledge is a plus point.
8) Christian :
This is the final and most important frontier in my relationships. I would really hate it if I have to spar over religion in my relationship. Though I know I would definately win in the end (through any means possible), I may end up being upset for the rest of the day.
More importantly, it means that I'll never have to worry about not being able to see him after I leave this world...
Moreover, it also means that we will have alot more to talk about!
Yupz. This is the answer in 8 points.
haha. I love these kinda quizzes. It makes me think about what I really want in life.
If you noticed, one point that I would usually put in the past is gone. That is, "able to give me whatever I want".
I guess you can call me wiser, but I realized something - in all relationships. That there is no such thing as passive or actives.
These factors merely acts as barricades for building relationships.
I guess everybody, is active/passive in a way, but depending on their characterisitics, they may feel the need to be acknowledged more. Usually the active is born in this circumstance.
haha. I have a blog entry quite some time ago about a study of Active and Passive relationships in the AJ community.
Yupz.
Finally, the above 8 points justifiably describes Dominic. So to me, he's perfect =D
but its not merely of these points that make him perfect.
Its also some of the dumb stuff that he does that make him completely perfect to me.
trust me. It is impossible to love a perfect human.
if I love him merely on those 8 points, it'll be infatuation.
To me, he's far beyond these 8 points...
yeah.

A story without a title... yet. (written on 27 December 2005)
I wrote the draft of this story about 6 months ago - if you remember scriptwriting. Due to certain reasons, I removed it from my blog and saved it as a draft...
This is one of the best story outlines I ever wrote, but I doubt I'd ever have the time to complete it.
(---27 December 2005---)
What happens when you have a story in your head that you are DYING to make?
You write it out!
In my case, I'm going ta blog about it...
Of coz, its going to be kinda scratchy...
AND of coz, like all my friends in the SDFTV class, they know how my characters are like, thus, I implore you blog-readers to have an open mind to my very basic script.
.. i just HAVE to get it out of my system... (*flush)
Main Characters :
Zarkos
Alexi
Christie
Chenne
Character 1 : Zarkos Maxon
Zarkos is the protaganist of the story, and is a quiet and sporty individual. He sucks his studies, except for Biology which he seem to excel in particularly well. He is breathtakingly good looking (hehe...) and has tons of gals who have secret crushes on him. He has a heart of gold and is an animal lover. Deep down inside, though he has many girl friends, he never looked to them as any more then sisters. His heart has been taken since ever since an event that change his life in Standard 4.
His best friends are Christie and Chenne whom he always shares his heart with. Oh.. and by the way, he is rich beyond reason.
Character 2 : Alexi Thomas
Not exceptionally good looking, but with an excellent physique complementing his impossibly good results, Alexi is a typical all-rounderhigh-achiever. Refusing to accept his past, which he considers a blemish in his perfect record, he shuns that which he was. He is popular amongst the guys as he plays for the state's water-polo team as a front liner.
An unexpected accident caused him to meet a person who he never believed he could have ever hated or loved so much. Though popular, he has no friends that are close to him, and takes comfort in his loyal german shepherd.
Character 3 : Christie Tan
Always the life of the party, Christie has had countless of ex-girlfriends AND boyfriends. She is always arguing with Zarkos about his opinion on true love. She stays by herself in the infamous student hostel (*though she is rarely in anyway), ... and in Zarkos family's pavillion garden.
Her life revolves around clubbing and hanging out with friends, though for some reason, she tends to do better then Zarkos even though she uses her textbook money to buy bottles of vodka.
Character 4 : Chenne Chen
Quiet but strong-willed, she is always there for Z' (she calls Zarkos "Z'" pronounced as Zecht), ready to be his shoulder and comforter. Even though she has never been through any relationships, she has a very matured view on love.
Having a crush on Zarkos waaaay before he even knew her, she knew that Zarkos was never meant to be hers. She would do anythign to prevent Zarkos from being hurt by anybody.
--------------------------
hmm... dunno if i should continue..... just thinking about the whole story.. IN MY MIND is enough to make me feel like crying...
Authors' Note : Alot of the stuff I'm writing are quite jap-based, as I'm feeling kinda J-style now! xP
--------------------------
Background :
Tomiko-Yamoto High school is situated in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan. Perpetually cold all year round, the school relies on a central heating system fueled by a warm thermal spa to warm all the classroom and facilities.
The students are internationally renowned for their excellent acadamic and sports achievements, and are generally within the age range of 17 (Alexi) to 22 years.
The scene takes place in a modern period.
-------------------------
Chapter 1
"Tomiko Yamoto High looks like an upside down toilet bowl from far!" exclaimed an exasperated Chenne to her parents. Her parents HAD to make her come to this toilet bowl of a school to continue her education.
“I tell you, what goes in the toilet bowl will be flushed out as shit!”
“Well then, if what goes in, comes out as shit… those are pretty fertile shit!” retorted Ms Chen.
“…”
As far as Chenne could see, high school meant more restriction and less time to hang out with her “bunch”. Homework also meant less time to do other more “useful stuff”
“I’m NOT GOING!!!” yelled Chenne, covering both ears “Unless I GET to stay away from you two imbecilic morons!”
Ms Chen looked like she was going to turn on her portable fountain again…
“Our daughter has all grown up!” turning to her husband “She is all independent and we are proud of her aren’t we?”
“Are we not always? Our fluvvy dubby looovely little princess?” punctuated Mr. Chen in an almost sickeningly sweet undertone, “You go and find yourself another nice guy ok? And make sure you tell us quickly this time!”
Chenne almost vomited out her sushi.

hmm... dunno if i should continue..... just thinking about the whole story.. IN MY MIND is enough to make me feel like crying...
Authors' Note : Alot of the stuff I'm writing are quite jap-based, as I'm feeling kinda J-style now! xP

Chenne almost vomited out her sushi.

over and out
phew... another long period where I didnt have time to blog at all...
This week is crazy. I mean CRAZY.
and I'm soo glad that its over...
Actually.. I dunno wad to blog about...
hmm... I went out to watch this accapella group called Budak Pandai perform at YMCA with Yusha, Phoebe and Jeremy... they're quite.. ok I guess..
but my standards for accapella should not be a deciding factor because I've been trained in a choir for so long already...
since there were so many people cheering and shouting over there, I'd guess their performance must have been pretty substantial...
=D
oh yeaah! I did flash! this whole week is a flashy week. FLASH.
FLASH FLASH FLASH
MOTOROLA FLASH
AUBURN BOX FLASH
REINVENT YOUR EXIT FLASH!!!
definately one of the largest flash projects I've done.
Its amazing when you realize how far you've come over the years...
If I were in year 1 and doing WP, I'd have probably taken about 3 weeks to a month to do a flash similar to what I did.
But with time comes experience (xD), and I finished the flash in 2 days!!
*clap clap clap applause*
gosh. I'm obnoxious. I better stop myself from becoming overly self-absorbed.
but.. I was quite good.. wasn't I?
hehe...
NEXT. CIBM
CIBM CIBM CIBM
hands food gaarden.
=P
geez. I have lotsandlots of work to do...
sigh. i. want. dominic.
=P
boo.
*hugglez*
